Getting Started with OneTracker

Getting Started with OneTracker

This page is for new OneTracker families. It tells you exactly what happens between signing up and the moment your teen gets their first Launch text. Setup takes about 20 minutes. After that, your daily time is under 5 minutes.

The OneTracker onboarding flow

Step 1: Sign up via the payment link

Go to the OneTracker sign-up page. Enter your name, email, and phone number. Complete payment with a card. Stripe processes the transaction and your account is created automatically on the other side. Your first 14 days are fully refundable, no questions asked.

Step 2: Check your email for the magic link

Within a few minutes, you will receive an email from Riveta Labs with a login link. Click it to access your parent dashboard at app.rivetalabs.com. No password to create. The link logs you in directly. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder.

Step 3: Install the Riveta Sync Chrome extension

The dashboard will prompt you to install Riveta Sync, the Chrome browser extension. This is what connects OneTracker to your teen's Canvas account. You will need to log into Canvas once during setup so the extension can authenticate. After that, it runs silently in the background. Your teen does not need to interact with it.

The extension works on any computer where your teen normally does homework. If they use a Chromebook, you can install it there. If they use a family computer, install it there. Takes about 10 minutes including the Canvas login.

Step 4: Configure your teen's profile

Inside the dashboard, set up your teen's profile:

  • Teen's name and phone number (this is where the daily Launch texts go)
  • Homework start time (when the Launch text sends each evening)
  • Grade level
  • Which Canvas courses to track (you can include all or select specific ones)
  • Your phone number (where the parent digest goes after homework time)

This takes about 5 minutes.

Step 5: First Launch text arrives

At the homework start time you set, your teen receives their first Launch Sequence text. It looks like this:

Hey [name], here are your top 3 for tonight:
1. Math homework (due tomorrow, 50 pts)
2. English reading response (due Thursday, 25 pts)
3. Bio lab report (due Friday, 100 pts)

Reply DONE when you finish the first one.

When your teen replies DONE, the system logs it. You receive a parent digest about 30 minutes after homework time ends.

Step 6: Check your dashboard

Open the parent dashboard to see the current assignment picture: what was completed tonight, what is coming up this week, and whether anything is overdue or flagged. Scout AI is available if you have questions or want to take an action (nudge your teen, email a teacher, request a Canvas sync).

This is your new normal. Five minutes of dashboard, not 45 minutes of Canvas.

What to expect in the first week

The first few evenings may feel rough. Your teen may ignore the text, reply late, or only complete one of the three items. That is normal. The system is establishing a new pattern. Most families see consistent engagement by Day 4 or 5. If you are not seeing it by Day 7, open Scout AI and ask what is going on. It has full context on your teen's activity and can suggest what to try next.

The 10-Day Sprint onboarding path

Sprint families skip Steps 3 and 4 above. Jacob handles the Canvas connection and profile configuration for you during the first call. Your only job is to attend the Day 1 call, set up your Brain Station (dedicated homework workspace) by Day 3, and be available for daily async check-ins. At Day 10, everything is running and you transition to independent management exactly as described in Step 5 and 6 above.
